Stephen James McClaine M.B.A. PE

Steve passed peacefully, after a short battle with cancer, on September 10, 2022, in Midland, Texas, at the age of 65. Steve spent his career accumulating over 42 years of experience as an engineer with various independent oil and gas companies and consulting reservoir engineer firms, including manager of US operations for PetroGlobe Energy USA, Ltd., and VP of engineering for Roaring Springs Energy, Ltd. Since 2015, Steve served as the President of Hickman McClaine & Associates, Inc. in Midland, Texas. Steve received a bachelor degree in Engineering from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Sothern New Hampshire University. More than his professional career, Steve succeeded in bringing joy to the people in his life. He was always up for a conversation, no matter the topic, a smile and firm handshake. Especially, he thrived at caring for his brothers and sisters at Fairmont Park Church of Christ in Midland, Texas where he served as an elder for the past 11 years. "Poppy," as he became known thanks to his biggest blessings - grandchildren, never missed an opportunity to share a teachable moment, whether it was a lesson in safety about the rattlesnakes he killed the night before, or a conversation about the truth of God and his word. Steve is preceded in death by his parents James David McClaine and Alma Joyce McClaine. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Jena (Mullin) McClaine; his son Chris McClaine (spouse Dayna), daughter Lindsay Elliott (spouse Adam), daughter Lauren Greer (spouse Chase); grandchildren Gage, Kyler, and Annley McClaine, Capri, Aaron, Quinn, Trace, Grayson, and Noble Elliott, Paisley, and Ellie Greer; Steve's brother Brian McClaine (spouse Liz), sister Brenda Carrens (spouse Carey), nieces and nephews, along with innumerable other friends and their families. Memorial service will be held in Steve's honor on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 at 11:00 am at Fairmont Park Church of Christ.
