Sylvia Mary Lovria

Sylvia Mary Lovria passed away on November 26, 2013 in Midland, Texas. Viewing will be Monday, December 2, 2013 for 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with the Memorial service following at 4:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bob Porterfield officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the American Legion Woods W. Lynch Post 19 located at 501 Veterans Airpark Lane. Sylvia was born to Frank and Madeline Ruffes in Niagara Falls, NY on December 16, 1928. She attended Niagara Falls High School and married the love of her life, Raymond Lovria, Sr., on December 14, 1945 just before her 17th birthday. Together they raised two children, Raymond Jr. and Darlene. Sylvia was an accomplished woman who was an active member of multiple organizations such as the American Legion Woods W. Lynch Post 19, Lions Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ladies Auxiliary VFW, and Helping Hands. The Ladies Auxiliary VFW presented Sylvia with a Certificate of Appreciation in 2007 to show their gratitude for her continued dedication. She was well traveled and was happiest when vacationing in Jamaica. Sylvia will be greatly missed by all who knew her and always remembered for her loving personality. Sylvia is survived by her son, Raymond Lovria, Jr. and wife, Ravi, of Midland, Texas; daughter, Darlene Darby and husband, Jim, of Oklahoma; brothers, John Ruffes of Midland and Frank Ruffes of Florida; grand-daughters, Merideth Garner of Florida, Rachel Darby of Tennessee, and Erin Darby of Austin; grandson, Damien Lovria of Midland; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Savanah Rose Garner of Florida. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond Sr., her parents, and her sister, Romona Fratteroli.
