BOONVILLE – Lonenzo Smith, 58, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015. He was born June 25, 1957 in Surry County to the late Robert Lee Smith and Louellen Hatcher Smith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Reggie Williams, LeeAnn Patterson , Catherine Smith; brother, Jerry Smith. Surviving is his fiancé, Judy Dobson; children, India Sha (Ivorie) Smith, Kaneisha Connelly; step-sons, Ronell (Agnes) Choate, Daylan Kole Dobson; grandchildren, Ashley Connelly, Kendalle Connelly, Kalia-Lani Choate, Lailani Choate, Shauna Choate, Samuel Choate; sisters, Rosa Carter, Melvena Peoples; brothers; Wendell (Goldie) Smith, Horrace Smith, Billy (Jessie) Smith; special friend, Kiko; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2015 at New Birth Worship Center by the Rev. James Hunt and the Rev. Darrell Scott, Sr. Burial will follow at Clarks Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at New Birth Worship Center.
