Richard Allen Isaacs, age 83, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County, on Feb. 10, 1940, the son of the late Henry and Katherine Haymore Isaacs. Mr. Isaacs retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., CRES Tobacco, Isaacs Frame Shop and Stokes Tire. He was a member of Old Town Baptist Church. Richard was known for his lemon pound cake. Surviving are his three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Robert Stewart, Judy and Tommy Gosnell, and Janet Isaacs; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Chilton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Virginia Isaacs, Ted and Audrey Isaacs, Phillip and Vickie Isaacs, and Don and Bryanna Isaacs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy George Isaacs and a sister, Barbara Ruth Spainhour. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m., at Westfield Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Speas, Rev. Rickey Rogers, and Rev. Mark George officiating. Interment will follow in Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214, or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 105 North Crutchfield St., Dobson, NC 27017.
