Gertrude "Anna" Aplas
July 16, 1937 – Sep. 17, 2022
BUTTE - Gertrude "Anna" Aplas, 85, of Butte, Montana passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Springs of Butte.
Anna was born in 1937 in Austria and immigrated to the United States in her 20s and made a new home in Southern California. There she met her husband of nineteen years, Adolf Aplas. Adolf's profession moved him and the family from Southern California to Butte in the 1980s. She fell in love with Montana and never wanted to live anywhere else.
She studied cosmetology early in life and worked in salons in Vienna, Austria, Southern California, and Butte. She was so proud to open "Anna's House of Hair" inside her home where she enjoyed servicing her "ladies" each and every week.
Anna was passionate about health and fitness. She was an avid runner and skier with many ribbons and metals to show her achievements. She loved working out at the Courtrooms and the YMCA and her absolute favorite was skiing the double black diamond runs on the backside of Discovery Basin.
She is survived by her daughter, Martina (Corey) Bowman of Bloomington, Minnesota and two grandchildren: Mallory and Abby. She is an inspiration to us all and will be greatly missed.
Special thanks to all the past and present caregivers from the Springs, Compassionate Heart Home Services, and Senior Solutions Hospice who all used their amazing gifts to comfort and care for her.
Private family services will be held at later date.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Butte Family YMCA at butteymca.org/donate or the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.

Dear Martina
I am so sorry to see your mom passed away. I know the last years have been difficult
Anna was a wonderful neighbor to me for many years and I really missed her when she left. I always admired your mom. She was so beautiful and so fit. Always working out or biking or skiing
I know she was missed by so many of her hair clients when she left and she will be missed

Martina and family-
I am so saddened to hear of Anna´s passing...she was a wonderful & remarkable person that has and will remain in a very special place in my heart!
I know she is up there having a cup of juice (very healthy choice as she told me many times) playing a mean hand of cards & visiting with Marge! I know she is looking down on her Martina, her granddaughters and son-in-law, Corey with so much love & pride, her family always, truly remained in her heart!
My deepest condolences are with you all...you are in my thoughts & prayers!
With deepest love,
Jeannie
