James Cramer Obituary

James Lawrence Cramer, Jr.

August 1, 1952 - December 28, 2022

BUTTE - James Lawrence "Jim" Cramer, Jr. passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at his home in Butte of natural causes. He was born at Fort Ord, California on Friday, August 1, 1952 to James Lawrence, Sr. and Audrey Marie (Hall) Cramer.

The family lived on a ranch in Ramsey where Jim was raised. He graduated from Butte High School and attended the University of Montana in Missoula where he studied psychology and music. He was part of Treasure State Auto Club and part of a team at the Lost Creek Raceway.

Jim married Sharon Gallegos in Butte on March 4, 1972 and together they had four daughters.

Jim owned his own full-service gas station on Continental St. in the 80's. He worked for Butte School District as a plant engineer for many years. He then went to work for the Human Resource Council doing home renovations for the needy. After fighting and beating brain cancer he decided not to retire and did maintenance for Dryden properties. He also cleaned and did maintenance for several churches in Butte. He had a life-long love for music, playing piano and the organ for weddings, funerals and several churches including Church in the Valley, United Congregational Church, United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church where Sharon and Jim got married. Jim loved the outdoors. He enjoyed many years spending time with his grandchildren at the family cabin and days spent kayaking with his grandchildren at the lake.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Cramer of Butte; daughters: Melissa Cramer, Monica Cramer, Julia Cramer and Tiffany Cramer all of Butte. Grandchildren: Angelo Lopez (Kayla Nulph) of butte, Jenna (Chris) Goodall of Arizona, Lexiah Maddock, Jaden Cramer, Ethan Cramer and Jessica Cramer. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren: Jackson and Sawyer Lopez, Jacob Goodall, soon to be born, Noah James Goodall, his sister and brother-in-law: Jeanne and Martin Fouts of Mountain View California, brother and sister-in-law: John and Margaret Cramer of Butte as well as extended Salmonen family of Billings and Butte.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be conducted at the Church in the Valley at a time and date to be announced. Express condolences at www.wayrynen-richards.com.

Just a brief note of condolence to the Cramer family with their recent loss. Having been friends with Jim and Sharon going way back to our high school days, I saw Jim and Sharon through many years together.......so I know how much of a loss this is for Sharon and her family. I hope with the new year that each day gets brighter and better in their journey ahead. My heartfelt sorrows to the Cramer family.
