Robert E. Devine
January 6, 1954 - April 20, 2022
Robert "Bob or Roscoe" Devine passed away suddenly on April 20, 2022 in Boise, Idaho where he had been living part time the last two years.
He was born to Helen McMahon and Bob Devine on January 6, 1954. He was the fifth child in a family of ten. Bob enjoyed the adventurous boyhood of growing up in Anaconda, a place he always held dear to his heart. He attended St Paul's grade school and graduated from Anaconda Central in 1972. He attended the University of Montana where he played basketball for the Grizzlies his freshman year. From there he transferred to Gallaudet College in Washington, DC and finished his degree at Catholic University.
While living in D.C, Bob worked for the US Senate. The highlight for him was a special relationship with Senator Mike Mansfield. After Mansfield left, he worked for Senator Lee Metcalf. Washington, DC is where his deep love for the Washington Redskins began and he remained loyal to them his entire life, even when they changed their name. Redskin Bob showed up at as many games as possible.
After DC, Bob moved back to Montana and eventually landed in Kirkland, Washington. He had many jobs during this transition period from flipping burgers, driving a sno-cone cart, and unloading mail trucks and working at the Anaconda Job Corps. He then began his career with Seattle City Light. He enjoyed a 32 year career and retired with awards for exemplary service.
In 2006, he purchased a cabin at Georgetown Lake with the dream of leaving a family legacy where we had spent our summers growing up. He lived there each summer after he retired.
Bob was an extremely generous person who always enjoyed blessing his many friends and family members. We will always cherish his giving heart.
He is survived by his nine siblings: Leanne Lathrope Devine of Bellevue, WA, Jack (Dani) Devine of Kirkland, WA, Jim (Cathy) of Mill Creek, WA, Kathy (Denny) Goodheart of Boise, ID, Shelley (Allan) Davison of Boise, Marilyn (Gary) Ohman of Anaconda, Gigi (Steve) Murfitt of Middleton, ID, Judy Devine of Missoula and Patti Devine of Anaconda. He is survived by 35 nieces and nephews; 31 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew. He also leaves behind his beloved cousins, the McMahon family; the Lorellos; the Devines; his close friend, Mike "Mikel" McDonald and numerous friends.
The celebration of life will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Anaconda on August 6, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. Visitation with the family will begin at the church at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow Mass at Mt. Olivet cemetery. A luncheon will follow inurnment at the AOH hall.
Donations can be made to the Anaconda Community Foundation, 118 E. 7th Suite 3F, Anaconda, MT 59711.

My family always spoke highly of the whole Devine family. But Roscoe had just that little extra that always brought a smile to one's face. Love & Hugs to the entire family. RIP Roscoe!

Bobby was one of the kindest, funny, and genuine people I think I have ever met.
Go with God my friend.
