William LaHood
May 4, 1944 – July 2, 2024
BUTTE - William LaHood, 80, of Denver, CO, passed away in his sleep on July 2, 2024, while visiting his favorite place in the world: Butte, MT.
Born in Butte on May 4, 1944, to Stephen and Montana LaHood, Billy was raised on the East Side attending Sacred Heart Grade School and Boys Central High School before graduating with a degree in Graphic Design from Montana State.
He is survived by his loving partner of more than 35 years, Marilyn Sexton; sister, Marilyn (LaHood) Konicki; sister-in-law, Angie LaHood, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Montana LaHood; and brother, Stephen.
Billy was an extremely talented artist, working as a Graphic Designer and owning his own business (LaHood Graphics) in Denver. He never met a stranger and loved traveling all over the world with Marilyn. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan, devoted captain of his perpetually needy RV, and a resourceful "Mr. Fix It." His other love in life was his participation in the Colorado Parrot Head Club. He and Marilyn rarely missed monthly "meetings" and travelled across the country to attend "bigger meetings." He volunteered his time (and his front yard) to build the annual parade float. According to the club, Billy was among "...our longest tenured and most-cherished members."
We invite friends to join us while Father Steve Judd, a Butte native, officiates a dual Memorial Service for both LaHood brothers (Billy and Steve) at Holy Cross Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2024. A Celebration of Lives will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall (224 W. Park Street) beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Billy will be remembered for his kind, gentle nature and his fun loving and laid-back personality. We pray he enjoys a never-ending summer of Parrot Head festivities.

Dear Marlyn's and Family---Dixie and I shared many good times together and was looking forward to the folk festival this week. Linda and I was looking forward on having Marlyn and Dixie out for a barbeque. I talked to him just before they left, and we had a good laugh about his 90 inch- tv that he was hanging on the wall.
Our trip to Cancun for seven days, was a great time and thanks to the Denver Broncos for giving me two free tickets.
You will always be in or prayers, rest dear friend.

Dear Marilyn and Marilyn -- Dixie was a good man and even better friend. He was a giver in a world of takers, and was always available to lend a helping hand. He was one of the world's best "shade tree mechanics."
Dixie was the God Father to my oldest son Michael. He stayed with us when he first moved to Denver. He helped me to prepare the nursery for Mike's arrival, and added several works of his art to put a nice finishing touch on that labor of love. When Mike was born, Dixie spent hours with me camped out at the window of the nursery while wearing out the nurse from hauling big Mike back and forth to the window for our admiration.
Dixie and I shared many of life's experiences that have provided many stories to pass along, many needing no embellishment to be entertaining.
I'm going to miss my good friend Dixie.
Marilyn Sexton summed up his life in one four word phrase " He had a healthy spirit". He most certainly did.
Ann and I send our most sincere sympathies and deep condolences to you both. May Dixie rest in a most deserved peace.

I went to Sacred Heart with Dixie, and over the years enjoyed his great personality. Although I was a Bulldog, and he was a Maroon, we always had fun teasing each other. He will be missed by so many, but have great memories of him. Marlene Darcy Driscoll.
