LOLA LEE GOLLINGER MUNISING - Lola Lee Gollinger, 89, of Munising died peacefully on Monday morning, January 2, 2023, at Munising Memorial Hospital where she was surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 15, 1933, in Munising to Everett and Adeline (Kaufman) Pangborn. Lola grew up in Munising and at a young age her father Everett died, leaving Addie to raise their three children. Addie later married Mearle "Mac" Disbrow and he stepped in their lives as a father. Lola attended Badger Business School in Green Bay, Wis. shortly after graduation from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1951. When her high school sweetheart, John "Jack" Gollinger, returned from the U.S. Navy, they were married on June 9, 1956, and together raised their six children. Lola became employed at Peoples State Bank when their youngest child Lisa started kindergarten. She worked there as a bookkeeper and was a member of the bank staff for over 20 years until her retirement. She and Jack were avid golfers and they were inaugural members of the Pictured Rocks Golf and Country Club. They loved golfing together, Friday night fish fries and couples league. To say Lola loved golf was an understatement! Her Wednesday league day was sacred, and her spirit was competitive. She earned the title of Ladies League champ at least eight times and earned PRG&CC's first woman to ever ace a hole in one on June 6, 2000. She golfed until the age of 86, until when a broken arm ended her golfing career. She was a member of Ladies Tuesday night bowling league and the Legion shuffleboard league. Lola and Jack enjoyed time at Breezy Point on Mirror Lake with family and wintering in Panama City Beach, Fla. Her faith was important to her and she was a devout and faithful member of the Sacred Heart Church. To say Lola was a diehard Packer fan was also an understatement! Sunday football was a sacred day in the Gollinger household and she and Jack were there to cheer the Pack on! She made her last trip to Lambeau with her family on her 80th birthday where true to her luck she bumped into one of her heroes Bart Starr in the pro-shop and had a great photo taken with him. On the eve of her passing she got to watch her Packers win big over the Vikings and Jamie said she hadn't seen her smile like that in weeks. Lola always had a lucky streak and enjoyed trips to the casino with her friends. She loved to play blackjack and on her last night at the table, the cards came to her and she left with a fistful of "their" money. Lola loved life, she loved people, and lived life on her own terms. She was a young and social 89-year-old with a smile that could light up a room. Jack and Lola were married over 45 years when Jack preceded her in death on August 19, 2001. She is survived by five children - Scott (Amy) Gollinger of Davidson, N.C., Jackie (Jonathon) Parker of Oak View, Calif., Paul (Karin) Gollinger of Munising, Patty (Mike) Eiseman of Munising, and David (Shelby) Gollinger of Huntington Beach, Calif.; grandchildren - Heidi Guzzo, Kirsten Sepulveda, Daren Eiseman, Jamie Eiseman, Amara Maloof, Jack Gollinger, and Cambria Gollinger; great-grandchildren - Cayden, Ryder, Morgan, and Ryan; brother - Kenneth (Karen) Pangborn of Milwaukee, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lola was preceded in death by her parents Everett Pangborn, Adeline Disbrow, and Mac Disbrow; husband - Jack in 2001; youngest daughter - Lisa Gollinger in 2018, and brother - Dale Pangborn in 2008. Services celebrating Lola's faith and life will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. A memorial mass will take place at Sacred Heart Church with Father Michael Ocran officiating at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery with a fellowship gathering to take place at Pictured Rocks Golf Course following the graveside services. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to the Pictured Rocks Golf Course in Lola's memory. Her obituary and online tribute wall may be found at
