MUSCATINE-Allan Ralph Phillips, 89, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at his home.
Services are pending at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Allan's honor, to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital which saved two of his great grandchildren. (University of Iowa Center for Advancement: P.O. Allan was born on October 6, 1932, in Fruitland, the son of Harold Edwin and Edna Pearl Hysienger Phillips. He married Jeanette Alice Stych on August 4, 1956, in Muscatine. They have four children, Teresa, Julie, Jeff, and Brian and celebrated 66 years of marriage together.
He graduated from Muscatine Community College with a Business Degree and retired as a Quality Control Manager from Thatcher Plastics/Kraft/Dart Industries.
Allan was a veteran of the United States Army. He served from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War as an ambulance driver on the front line.
Allan enjoyed fishing, playing cards, traveling to many countries, his 'Frank Lloyd Wright' home which overlooked the Mississippi River, tinkering on cars, and most of all, spending time with his family.
He will be deeply missed by his family: Jeanette Alice Phillips, past mayor of Muscatine; Teresa Phillips and her children, Michael Adams and daughter, Lily, Alyson Glynn and husband, Travis, and their children, Alex and Grayson; Julie Neipert and husband, Bill, their children, Christopher Crumly and wife, Michale, their children, Peyton and Drake, Ryan Crumly and wife, Emilee, their children, Jurrnee and Lyric, Abbi Neipert and children, Casch and Lyric, and Morgan Neipert and children, Tavien and Kyliah; Jeff Phillips and his daughter, Tiara; Brian Phillips and wife, Connie, their children, Tiffany Phillips and partner Austin Mogler, and children, Noelia, Barrett, and Steele, Lynsey Ghavimi and husband, Piyom, their children, Reza, Elle, and Emme, and Nathan Clark and children, Faith, Dameon, and Charley, and Morgan Machholz and children, Adriel, Willow, and Ivy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Edna Phillips; siblings, Edwin, Helen Estabrook, and Robert; father and mother-in-law, George and Alice Stych; and numerous brother and sisters-in-law.
