Carol A. Rhoads, 79 Carol A. Rhoads passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at Our House Senior Living in River Falls, WI.

She was born on August 22, 1944, in Conneaut, Ohio and grew up in Ashtabula, Ohio with lots of family around. Following high school she completed her bachelor's degree in Education from Kent State University and later her master's degree from Western Illinois University.

She married Robert (Bob) Rhoads on March 22, 1969 in Kent, Ohio. After several years in Ohio, they moved to Kentucky, then relocated to Muscatine, Iowa. After her husband passed away in 2014, she moved to North Liberty, Iowa in 2017 and then River Falls, Wisconsin in December 2023.

Carol was a caring and passionate educator who impacted the lives of many. Her warm spirit and jovial smile will forever be a part of our hearts. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Cooking and baking the best desserts were her love languages. She loved shopping for others, spending time with loved ones, and was always so proud of her family.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Rhoads, and her parents, Wayne and Taimi Jokilehto. Survivors include her sister, Jeanne Medley and family; daughter, Karen Clark (Ryan), granddaughters, Lauren and Kaelyn Clark; son Bob Rhoads (Mary Qualls), grandsons Andrew (Haley), RJ, and Eric Rhoads; and great-grandchildren River and Rainey.

Please join us for a celebration of life on Friday, September 6, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, 85 N. Jones Blvd, North Liberty, IA 52317. Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m. and a service following at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be for the family at the Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City, IA on Saturday, September 7, 2024. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to an educational charity of your choice in memory of Carol A. Rhoads.
