I got to know Troy when I worked as a reporter at the White Lake Beacon. We had a lot of conversations and I was always struck by how kind and genuine he was. I was really sad to find out about his passing and he will be greatly missed.

I would like to say, how saddened and sorry I am to the Moran family. It wasn´t hard to see what Troy meant to people. With the hundreds of people that were there to say goodbye. We will miss him. God bless his baby girls, and his family. I will always remember that smiling face!!! God bless!

I loved Mr. Moran when he taught at Mona Shores Middle I knew when I went to his class I was going to get a good laugh and lesson, he was definitely one of the cool teachers everyone loved to be around. Such a tragedy and heartache to hear of this, my condolences and deepest prayers to his kids and family & friends may you all get through this hard time. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. May he rest in roses

I only knew Troy for maybe a decade and it has been longer since I have seen him. With that said, the impact he made on my life was profound. I just loved that kid. I played a couple of Ludington Makers with Troy and his incredible defense helped us to a few gold boys. He was so much fun to play with. Todd, you are such a good dude. My heart is hurting for you man, wishing you the best as you celebrate Troy's life and move forward in life to continue his legacy. Steve and Jillene, although our time knowing each other was limited, I remember coming over for a swim in the pool and hotdogs on the grill. It may have been the only time I was with all of you together, my memory reminds me of how close and special your family is. It was immediately clear why your kids grew up to be such special people. You are both fantastic parents.
Thank you for the memories and thank you especially for allowing me to be a small part of Troy's life. He was such a special dude! Wishing you all the best in this time of grief. God Bless-rob smith

Troy was so special. Teachers don't always remember all of their students over the years, but Troy was memorable. It was so nice to reconnect with him as an adult and then to find out that we moved into his neighborhood. Our hearts ache for the entire Moran family; you are in our prayers. May our Lord & Savior comfort you in your sorrow and loss.

Jill, Steve, Todders, and Rach- praying for you and your family. I was so shocked and heartbroken when I found out about this news. Troy will always be remembered as a genuine, honest, true to himself, faithful, God fearing, great sense of humor, but most of all he showed empathy for others when they were having a hard time- he truly cared about others and put others first. I have never met anyone who did not love the guy. Steve and Jill you raised a son that transformed the lives of many young men and womens lives while he taught at several schools. I meet someone all the time from different schools that remembers Troy and they remind me of the impact he made on their lives. I will forever cherish living together in Kalamazoo together. I loved having him around our apartment. We literally spent thousands of hours playing John Madden against each other. I won the first 100 games, he used to get so mad, he kept on coming back to play me and he finally got his first win- literally running around the house calling himself the champion. lol. After he got the game figured out, he was hard to beat. You raised a perfect son, and perfect father to his beautiful daughters, a true ride or die brother to Todd, and a protecting brother to his lil sis, Rachel. Love you guys. Although his life was cut way too short and he had so much left to give, he made impacts on peoples lives that most people can only dream of...............
