David Larry Jensen

David Larry Jensen January 7, 1942 – December 1, 2024 On January 7, 1942, Dave was born in Blaine, WA in his grandparents' home. His grandma's assisted the doctor in the delivery, Dave weighed in at 10 lb. 4 oz. At the age of two the family moved to Bellingham where he started school at Roosevelt Elementary until the family moved to Anacortes, from which Dave graduated high school. Dave spent 4 years in the Army In Thailand. He met and married Kathy in Anacortes. Dave had his own successful Electrical business. While always loving the water he took up sailing. He was the yacht club Commodore during the 1990's. He and Kathy divorced after 28 years. After selling the business he went to work for other companies. Joyce talked Dave into Kayaking one summer and they loved it so much they signed up for the San Juan Challenge. A 16-mile trip leaving Anacortes harbor and going around Guemes Island. What a fun trip, a real experience! Being the OLD FOLKS of the race they came in last, but what a memorable time! On December 1, 2024. Dave passed away leaving behind his one true love, Ruth Bergman and his sister Joyce Kamps, (his adopted by love Children) Debbi and Mike Owings and John and April Janzen. Also many nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention all their names. Besides his love of sailing, Dave was involved at the Ferndale Senior Activity Center where he enjoyed playing pool, joining in on the monthly potlucks which he dearly loved, card playing, drinking coffee with the people, and his love of working the monthly pancake breakfast flipping those pancakes. He was always ready to help out wherever needed. If you needed help with something, Dave was the man to call. Dave Larry Jensen, you will be missed by all who knew you.
