Maria De Rivera

Maria De Jesus De Rivera was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, March 23, 2025, while surrounded by the love and support of her family, friends, and community. Born on November 24, 1943, in Manzanillo, Mexico, Maria brought a vibrance and joy to all who met her. Her genuine care for people was made evident through both the love and devotion she showed to her family, as well as the care and consideration she gave to others. Maria had many dear friends and was truly loved by all who knew her, Maria had various interests, but the one she liked best was gardening. She favored all types of flowers. It didn't matter the color, type, or size if it was a flower, it was the best. Maria will be dearly missed by her children Salvador Rivera, Miguel Rivera, Manuel Rivera, Esmeralda Rivera, Felipe Rivera, Arturo Rivera, and Lorenzo Rivera, as well as a number of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Maria is preceded in death by her beloved husband Felipe Rivera (August 26, 2002), and her dear sister Maria A. Ramos (March 1, 2025). A rosary will be held Monday, March 31st at 6pm at Gillies Funeral Home. There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday, April 1st at 10:30am at Assumption Catholic church, followed by a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery at 12pm.
