Patricia Assink

Patricia Sue Assink passed away on April 23, 2025, at her home in Everson. Pat was born on Feb. 14, 1944, to Norman and Ethel Freeman in Sedro Woolley. The family moved to Whatcom County when Pat was about 14. She graduated from Meridian High School. It was there she met the love of her life, Ron. They were married shortly after graduation and enjoyed 62 years together. Pat enjoyed baking and always had delicious treats available. She also loved to sew, paint ceramics, and garden. The family spent time camping around the state and Ron and Pat enjoyed traveling later in life. Mom's favorite places were Germany and Denmark. Pat was involved in many Bible studies over the years and loved the Lord deeply. Pat is survived by her husband Ron, her three children; Rhonda (Scott) O'Day, along with their children Chris (Kaitlin) O'Day and Keely (Justin) Pedigo; Randy (Patti) their children, Caleb (Catherine), Hayley, Isaiah (Taylor) and Lucas (Alexa); Ross his children, Simson, Cormac, Vivian (Ben) Huff, Griffith, Estelle, Laetitia, Gresham, Kuyper, Maximus, Cecilia, and Isadora. And 10 great-grand kids. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Orland (Linda) Freeman, Karen Danner, and Verna (Larry) Korsland, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, sister Judy Reed, and grandson Haddon. A private family graveside service will be at Ten Mile Cemetery on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice.
