Adam Marczak Obituary
AGE: 89 • South Amboy
Adam Marczak, age 89, of South Amboy, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 17, 2014 at Roosevelt Care Center, Old Bridge. Born and raised in South Amboy he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, fought in the Battle of the Bulge with the 285th Field Artillery, was a member of the Sayreville Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 4699, Sayreville American Legion Post 211 and an associate member of the Middlesex County Vietnam Veterans Chapter 233. Before his retirement 27 years ago he was employed by Jersey Central Power and Light as a maintenance mechanic where he worked for 40 years. Adam was am exempt member of Protection Fire Company in South Amboy.
He is predeceased by his parents Adam & Catherine Marczak, his siblings Florence Thomas, Catherine Zambrowski, Dorothy Murasko, Adrian Marczak, Connie Mackiel and Arthur Marczak. Surviving are his children Edward Marczak of South Amboy, Raymond Marczak and his wife Rose of Sayreville, Sharon Avale of Freehold, and Robert Marczak of Bordentown, his grandchildren Forest & Travis Avale, Carol Dodge and Thomas Kelley, his great grandchildren Renee and Christina, his sisters Rita Ferenci of Old Bridge, Lillian Dzielak-Kurek of Pennsylvania, his brother Alfons Marczak of Surf City, his former wife Agnes Marczak of Sayreville and his companion Shirley Kelly of South Amboy.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11am at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Monday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. The family has requested that donations in Adam's name be made to the Animal Shelter of your choice.
