Aida Vasquez Obituary
AGE: 73 • Perth Amboy
Aida "Letty" Rodriguez Vasquez, 73, of Perth Amboy, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center. She was born in Puerto Rico and lived in Perth Amboy all of her life. Aida was an Outreach Worker at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy for 41 years before retiring in 2006. She was a communicant at La Asuncion R C Church in Perth Amboy. Aida was a founding member of PRAHD, a Perth Amboy Housing Commissioner for 15 years, Past member of MCEOC Board of Directors, and a community organizer and activist.
Aida was predeceased by her parents Vincent and Elena Caraballo Rodriguez, and her brother Angel Rodriguez. She is survived by her daughter Myrna "Mimi" Almonte and her companion Butch of Perth Amboy, her grandchildren Jose, Noel, and Paula and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Helen Garlaza, Ivis Rosa, Iris, Tony, Robert, and Carlos Rodriguez and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy followed by a 10 am funeral liturgy at La Asuncion Church. Visitation is Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to the family for a future memorial event.
