Barbara Ann Tureaud, 58, of Freehold, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA.
Born in West Orange, Barbara was raised in Sayreville before settling in Freehold in 1985. Barbara was a very private and caring person who loved animals and enjoyed helping everyone that she knew. She also enjoyed collecting and appraising antiques, searching estate sales for rare items and gardening. She was very loyal and completely devoted to her job and, to the parish community, as an administrative assistant for the last twelve years at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Barbara will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Predeceased by her parents, Lois and John Puchalski, Sr., she is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Jeffrey Tureaud of Freehold, and; her brother, John Puchalski, Jr. and his wife, Frances, of Flemington.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Church, 23 Manalapan Road, Spotswood. A Liturgy of the Word will be offered at 7:30 PM during the visitation. Cremation will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations honoring Barbara's memory be made to the "Capital Campaign Fund" at Immaculate Conception Church, 18 South Street, Spotswood, NJ 08884.

Time hasn't dimmed Barbara's memory. Her faith, her caring, and her love still come to mind so often. It's still hard to accept the loss of such a wonderful friend.

So often I think of Barbara and I still miss sharing good times with her. The other day I came across a prayer she had sent me and it reminded me of how strong her faith was and how she shared it with others. I will always hold her memory in my heart.

I still miss Barbara and l think of her often and wish we could get together at one of our tea shops. we lost a wonderful caring person when she passed. I'm so glad she was my friend.

Though I have never physically met Barbara, I talked with her on almost a weekly basis over the last ten years, through her work as a devoted Admin at IC. I am so sorry to hear of her passing (especially so late), she was truly a wonderful person to work with. Although I didn't have the chance to pay my final respects, please know that I will remember Barbara quite fondly and I am honored to have worked with her through the years. Til we meet again, my friend.

Jeff, I can't express my sorrow for both you and all those Barbara knew. She was so sweet and kind and though most times it was just a wave hello, she did touch my heart through the years as my neighbor. If you need anything, I'm always just across the street.

Barbara was a great friend and a major force here at Immaculate Conception. She took care of everything and everyone. She was efficient, organized, dependable,and always there for you. She could be depended on to give an honest opinion or suggestion when you needed a second opinion. She was always there in times of need and always willing to help. We are going to miss her tremendously. She is irreplaceable, personally and professionally.

I worked with Barbara at AT&T during her Labor Relations days! Just recently met up with her and Martha about 2 years ago in Clinton, NJ for lunch. She was a strong presence.
