Bruno Curatola Obituary

Bruno A. Curatola

Bruno A. Curatola, 96, of Saratoga Springs, NY, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital, Saratoga Springs, NY. Bruno lived in Edison with his wife, Roselene, from 1964 until her passing in 2013. He continued to live in his home until the fall 2018 when he moved to upstate NY. He was most recently a resident at The Home of the Good Shepherd, an assisted living facility in Saratoga Springs, NY.

As a child, his entire family played music together! Bruno played the Mandolin. In 1942, Bruno volunteered to serve his country in the United States Marines as a Tail gunner / Navigator / Bombardier. He was in action in the Pacific in SBD's, TBF's and B-24's in the Solomon Islands, Iwo Jima, Okinawa and others. Bruno had fond memories of Shirley Temple teaching him how to dance at a USO dance (Betty Davis was her chaperon), and meeting his first pit bull which belonged to Pappy Boyington! Following his time in the Marines, Bruno earned his Associates Degree from Bethlehem Business College, and was a Cost Accountant for Worthington Pump Corporation, Harrison NJ from 1963 to 1991.

He loved to go dancing with his wife, Roselene, as well as swimming and diving. He enjoyed hunting well into his retirement years. He loved eating out, especially Calamari, cooked just right! Most of all, he loved and was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

Bruno was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Roselene, his brothers, Dominic, Paul, Dan, and Anthony, and a sister, Ida (Curatola) Marakovits, sisters-in-law, Mary, Lorraine and Angeline, and brother-in-law, Edward Marakovits. He is survived by his children, Arthur Curatola of Bethlehem, PA, Bruce and Melissa Curatola of League City, TX, Linda (nee Curatola) and Paul Thomer of Middle Grove, NY, and Charles Curatola of Hutto, TX, his grandchildren, Rebekah (Thomer) Pinkava, Douglas Curatola, Jonathan Thomer, Gregory Curatola, Stephanie Curatola, Jackie Curatola, and Ryan Curatola, and great-grandchildren, Annabelle Rose and Rose Hanne.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 6 -8 PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison, NJ, and Friday, 9:30AM until funeral services begin at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.

What a wonderful life! So happy that his daughter Lyn, Granddaughter Rebekah, and Greatgranddaughter Rose got to be touched by his life. You three girls have passed on that legacy to me and my family. With our sympathy and love.

We were shocked to learn that your Dad had passed away. When a parent dies, it seems to open a very large void in our hearts. There is, however, no real void because we find that the many memories we experienced together are still there. our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
