Claire F. LaMotta

AGE: 77 • Monroe Twp.

Claire F. LaMotta died suddenly on Friday July 18th at Robert Wood Johnson-University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 77 years old. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Pine Brook for 20 yrs., then Iselin for 4 years, before moving to Greenbrier in Monroe Township in 2000. She retired in 2000 after a 25 year working career first as a claims examiner and supervisor for Prudential Insurance Co. in Edison and finally as a billing clerk for Omni Eye Services in Woodbridge Township. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord RCC, Monroe Twp., and the Italian American and Senior Social Club, both in Greenbrier.

Surviving are two sons, Mark Tihasek of No. Brunswick and Kenneth Tihasek of Boonton, two daughters, Deborah Higgins and her husband, James of Parkton, MD and Tina McGuinness and her husband James of Iselin. She is also survived by a brother, Joseph LaMotta and his wife, Deena of Pound Ridge, NY and two grandchildren, Kristina and Dominic Higgins and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 8:45am from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RCC, Monroe Twp. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park Mausoleum, Union. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
