DAVID LAWRENCE HOLLAND
AGE: 74 FLEMINGTON
David Lawrence Holland, age 74 of Flemington, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 in Arlington, VA.
Beloved husband of Shie Lee Holland; Devoted father of Nancilee Holland of Fairfax Station, VA and Obie A. Holland of Plainfield, NJ.; Brother of James (Gertrude) Holland of Aspers, PA, Mildred Glass of Jersey City, NJ and Sandra Hoffman of Jersey City, NJ. Loving grandfather of William Sean Holland of Flemington, NJ and Ariane Patrice Holland of Fairfax Station, VA. He is also survived by his Aunt, Mary West of Plainfield, NJ as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dave, (Lawrence to family) was born the fourth of seven children in Haverstraw, NY to Obie and Emma (Blackwell) Holland. The family later moved to Jersey City, NJ. He graduated Ferris High School in 1955; after which he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served twenty years. During that time he met and married Shie while stationed in Taiwan. They settled in Plainfield, NJ and raised their two children. He continued his work with the Government, finally retiring from the Federal Police Force at Lyons V.A. Hospital in Lyons, VA. From there, he went on to another career of farming with fowl, goats and sheep on his farms first in Baptistown and then in Flemington.
Friends may call at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home 9902 Braddock Road Fairfax, Virginia on Thursday, December 23 from 12-1 PM where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM. Interment at Fairfax Memorial Park with U.S. Air Force Military Honors. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Plainfield, NJ.
