David W. Ritter

AGE: 80 • Morgan

David W. Ritter, age 80 of the Morgan Section of Sayreville, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Raritan Bay Medical Center Perth Amboy. He was born in Perth Amboy and lived in Sayreville most of his life. David retired from E.I. Dupont Photo Products, Parlin, NJ after 33 years of service. He was a member of the 10 & 25 years service clubs and Local 527 ICWU.

Mr. Ritter was an Army Paratrooper Veteran serving with the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War, was a life member of the 82nd Airborne Division Association chapter of New Jersey, as well as a member of the American Legion Lenape Post 211 of Sayreville, NJ. David proudly was a Charter Member of the Morgan First Aid Squad, the Emergency Response Team and was active in the Morgan Athletic Association. He was also a communicant of The First Presbyterian Church in South Amboy. He is predeceased by his parents John & Mary (Stockton) and brother John Bobby in 1944. Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years LaVerne "Ishie" (Keenan) of Morgan, his children and their spouses David & Stacey of Arkansas, and Cindy & Andy Braun of Morgan; his grandchildren Jill, Lindsay, Samantha, Cassidy, Cody & Melissa and husband Charles Novak of Sayreville, and his "Number 1 Man" Ryan A. Braun; great-grandchildren Mason, Nathan & CJ; his brother Richard of East Brunswick; Margaret Ritter of Morgan as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Services were private under the direction of the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane Parlin. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in David's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Morgan First Aid Squad.
