David A. Weeks

Somerville - 87, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2020 at his Somerville, NJ home surrounded by his family.

David's full career led him from Jesuit run St. Peter's Prep to college and finally graduate degrees at Fordham University. He began his career as an analyst on the IBM Corporate Staff. He served in the US Army and returned to IBM Compensation staff at Corporate headquarters where his responsibilities include forming new compensation plans.

David joined the non-profit research and education consultant firm The Conference Board and developed courses and conferences as well as designing and writing studies in executive and incentive compensation. He rose to Senior Vice President, overseeing all the Board's programs of economic and business organization research in the US and internationally.

He was asked by the US Air Force to assist in the manpower study which proved the feasibility of the end of the draft and the formation of a fully volunteer force. His Weeks and Associates firm was involved in many organizations and incentive studies over the next decade for the Federal government.

David retired in 1998 and spent more time writing, sailing, woodworking, and playing and watching tennis with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Dorice and their five children: David Jr. Esq. and his wife Dr. Amy (Gregory) Weeks; Deirdre Rosinski; and Deborah Brooks, both of Somerville and Dwight and Rony Vardi of Brooklyn, NY. Another son, Dennis Weeks died in an equestrian accident in 1988.

The couple have eight grandchildren: Sarah and Eleanor Weeks of Nashville and New York City; Grace and Roxanne Rosinski of London and Indianapolis; Mackenzie and Isabel Brooks of Somerville and Philadelphia, and Sylvie and Leon Weeks of Brooklyn, NY.

Funeral mass will be 10am Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater. Arrangements by Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville.
