I worked with Dennis on several Hudson River issues over the years, and he was gracious, smart, funny, helpful, and kind. A generous and caring person. I am sorry he is no longer with us, but as someone said, we trust he is saving another river somewhere.

Dear Mrs. Suszkowski and Family:
I was heartbroken and shocked when I learned of Dennis's passing.
He was a wonderful gentleman. An ally when he needed to be but also strong in his opinions and guidance when he knew that there was a better way to achieve mutually beneficial results. During my tenure as Port Director of the PANYNJ we had many valuable and successful meetings because Dennis was a great listener and even better consensus builder.
It has been my good fortune to have known him for almost 30 years.
My prayers are with him and you. I know his love will keep you strong. May he rest in God's loving embrace.
