Donald Franklin Obituary
AGE: 77 • Plainfield
Donald McKinley Franklin "The Duck" was called HOME November 20, 2016. He was 77 years old. He was born in Plainfield NJ on January 25, 1939 to Emily Boyd Franklin and the late McKinley Franklin.
He was educated in Plainfield schools and graduated from Plainfield High in 1956. Donald also attended Maryland State University and Morgan State University and was a former supervisor at Lockheed and Litton Industries.
Music was one of his passions. "Don Juu-lee-ahn", as he affectionately called himself, loved to play the drums and was an excellent singer. In his younger years he was an avid baker and cooked all kinds of gourmet meals for his family.
Donald was predeceased by his father McKinley Franklin and two stepchildren, Richard and Sandra Weeks. To cherish his loving memory, he leaves his beloved and devoted wife, Mary J Franklin of Riverdale, GA; his mother Emily Franklin of Plainfield, NJ; two daughters Kelly Franklin Moxey (Frederick) of Sewell, NJ; Dawn Franklin Williams (Virgil) of Plainfield NJ; one brother, Kenneth Franklin (Pearlie) of Dover, DE; three stepchildren, Karla and Kenneth Weeks of Somerset, NJ and Robert Weeks of Riverdale GA; one brother-in-law, Robert "Buster" Jackson of Riverdale GA, two sister-in laws, Alice Etienne (Oscar) of East Orange, NJ and Annie Patterson (Shane) of Somerset, NJ ; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
