Doris Kopf Obituary
AGE: 89 • Niles, MI
Doris West Kopf, 89, passed away on November 26, 2015 at her residence in Niles, MI. She was born in Wilmington, DE on October 4, 1926. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Sadie West, her husband, Robert Anthony Kopf, and her son, Richard Allan. She is survived by her two sons, Robert Adrian, (wife Laurie) and Randall Arthur and 6 precious grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Doris graduated from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. In 1948 she married her husband Bob. In 1954 she, along with Bob and their son, Richard left the states to serve in the Belgian Congo with the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society. Sons Robert and Randall were born in the Congo. They returned as a family of 5 to the states in 1959.
While living in New Jersey, Doris taught High School French from 1964 before retiring in 1991. She was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church in Asbury Park, NJ where she served as the church librarian from 1996-2004. She also volunteered her time from 1991-2001 to play the piano for residents at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, Francis Asbury Manor and Manor by the Sea in Ocean Grove, NJ. Her family and those who knew her will miss her sense of humor and her beautiful smile.
There will be a private graveside service at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls.
In lieu of flowers, her desire was for contributions to be made to the Mission Fund of First Baptist Church in Asbury Park, NJ.

I worked with Doris for many years at Marlboro High School. She was one of the nicest most compassionate individuals I had the privilege to work with. She will be sorely missed. My sympathies to her family.
