Edward Cohen Obituary
AGE: 99 • Highland Park
Edward Cohen, 99, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Parker Home in Piscataway, NJ. Born in Jersey City, NJ and was a resident of Highland Park since 1946.
He was a graduate of Dickinson High School and attended Rutgers at Newark for two years. Edward enlisted in the Army in 1941 and served in the Philippines and Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1945 with the rank of Sergeant.
Edward founded Associated Enterprises in 1955 and in 1985 sold the company to Philips Electronics.
He was a member of Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth for over 40 years, where he served as Vice President for 14 years. Edward was an honorary Board Member. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias.
Predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Rose (Goldstein) and his daughter, Elyse, he is survived by his wife of 71 years,Freda (Rosenfeld), his daughter Judith, of Ann Arbor MI and his sister Frances Bergman, of Tinton Falls, NJ.
Funeral service will be held today at the Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth, Third and Benner Streets, Highland Park, NJ at 11:20 am. Interment following at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.
Memorial contributions may be made to the HPCT-CAE Memorial Fund, 201 So. Third Ave., Highland Park, NJ 08904.
