AGE: 73 • Brick
Edward P. Novak, age 73, passed away October 25, 2017, at home surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Ed grew up in the Sheepshead Bay area of Brooklyn, before moving to Brick, NJ in 1975. He served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966. Ed was a rate analyst for US Lines and Mitsui OSK Lines Shipping; he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Turner Classic Movies, and the Dallas Cowboys.
Surviving Ed are his wife, Diane Novak; 2 daughters Michelle Pollina and her husband Philip, and Marie Graves; his son Steven Graves and his wife Vicki; his 5 grandchildren, Justin and Carleigh Pollina, and Keith, Hayley and Amanda Graves; his sister, Maryann Schuster and her husband Richard; 3 nieces, Christine Pedott, Laura Ann Gallo and, Colleen Graves; and his great nephew Ryan Gallo; also surviving Ed is his friend of over 50 years, Kathleen Driscoll.
A viewing for Edward will be held on Sunday October 29, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7pm to 9pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home 885 Mantoloking Road Brick, NJ 08723. A funeral home service will be held at 8:30pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ed' s memory to your local animal shelter or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101.

Dear Diane and Family, Our hearts go out to all of you at this time. Ed has been a wonderful part of our lives too since our Vicki, married your Steven. I will remembered many wonderful barbecues, Thanksgiving dinners and family gatherings and Ed's wonderful love for his Grandchildren, the football games at Thanksgiving and the noise of cheering his team on against his Son and Son in law's teams. His love for his dogs, and for each of you. He was such a gentle, kind hearted man and will be remembered and missed by all of us who knew him and loved him. God be with you all and look back in time to all your great memories of times you had with Ed. There has to be so many. Love and sincere condolences; Herb, Doris and Jerry.
