West Orange - Ella Raskulinecz, 92, passed away peacefully on 3/12/2021 at her home in West Orange, NJ. Ella lived most of her life in Carteret, NJ until she and her husband moved to Woodbridge, NJ. After a time, in 2015 she moved to West Orange, NJ with her husband, Stephen, in order to be closer to their daughter and get additional care for him. Ella was born in Carteret, New Jersey on January 7, 1929. Ella was a homemaker for most of her life until she and her husband purchased a neighborhood tavern in Carteret- The Glass Bar. Later in life she worked as a patient intake coordinator at JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ. Ella was a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's Church in Carteret, NJ for many years. She was a lifelong animal lover and had numerous pets over her lifetime. She particularly enjoyed the visits of her friends with their pets for the last several years. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Jaime Raskulinecz and her wife, Linda Varas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dana Bleau and Jessica Whitney along with four great grandchildren. Ella was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stephen and her oldest daughter, Linda Kovach. She was also predeceased by her mother, Julia Held and her father, John Held. Synowiecki Funeral Home in Carteret will be carrying out her wishes to be cremated. At this time, there is no service planned.
