I had only recently learned of Gary's passing and would like to share some memories. Gary and I met in tech school in NJ and we both went to Florida to attend Fort Lauderdale University in 1970. We shared an apartment toward the end of college and enjoyed our mutual technical interests even back then. Reading here that Gary was a member of the NJ Antique Radio Club and a Ham Radio operator doesn't surprise me. He was a combination of technical curiosity and skills. An example: We found a surplus electronics shop and each bought a non-working CB radio for $5 each. We enjoyed rebuilding them along with other items such as discarded lawn mower engines! The Plasma Physics Laboratory was fortunate to have such a talented person contributing to their technical support.

My sincere condolences to his wife Shari and daughters. I had first met Shari back while Gary and I were roommates and remember when they first got together. Gary was captivated by her and the rest is history. I was fortunate have known him both as a classmate and a remarkable friend.

I had the pleasure of knowing Gary nearly thirty years due to our mutual love of old radios. He always had a good word every time I saw him at the meets and meetings. We had great conversations discussing the latest "tough dog" or acquisition. After you talked to Gary, your day always improved!!!
My heart goes out to Gary's family and his multitude of friends.

Gary was always great to be with whether working with him on fixing ground faults early in the morning or talking with him as he fixed a vacuum controller years ago, or more recently sharing our thoughts about our favorite airplanes. He was truly one of the nicest guys I ever met and I will miss him.
