Gilberto Gonzalez Obituary
North Brunswick - Gilberto (Gilbert) Gonzalez, 78, of North Brunswick passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021 at his residence. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he lived in New Jersey most of his life. Gilberto was a warehouse worker for Container Corporation of America in Somerset, NJ for many years. Previously in Puerto Rico, he was employed as a Security Guard. Devoted to his family, he was a communicant of the Parish of the Visitation-St. Mary's of Mount Virgin RC Church in New Brunswick. Gilberto was a highly regarded pool player. Son of the late Francisco Gonzalez and Eusedia Mendez, he is survived by his wife, Nelida Malpica-Gonzalez, his children Gilbert, Jr., Teresa Melendez and Noemi Gonzalez, his sister Elba Santiago, grandchildren Alexa Gonzalez and Emilio Melendez and three great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 9 am at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's of Mount Virgin RC Church-Parish of the Visitation, the corner of Remsen Avenue and Sandford Street, New Brunswick. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ. Relatives and Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Sincere condolences to you, Nellie and your family in the loss of your precious Gilbert. My husband (now deceased) and I had the pleasure of staying in your gracious home in San Juan for a couple weeks through Air B&B. Gilbert was such a great man and wonderful host- driving us through Puerto Rico and introducing us to some of his family, taking part in a typical Puerto Rican barbeque. And playing pool with Jake! He was so warm, loving, generous and kind with a wonderful wit and humor. As Canadians, he told us we always had a family and friends in Puerto Rico. Friends for life! May God bless you with the memories of the love you shared with him and give you strength in the coming days ahead in your time of deep loss and bereavement. Te quero mucho my dear friend. RIP dear Gilberto.
