Gregory Paul Adams

AGE: 62 • Millstone

Gregory Paul Adams, 62, of Millstone Township died peacefully Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Bartley Healthcare Center in Jackson, NJ. Born in New Brunswick, Greg was raised in Franklin Township and resided in Millstone Township for over 30 years. He was a member and Elder of the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone, and also served the Franklin Park Fire Department in his younger years. Greg played baseball for Trenton State College where he graduated with a degree in Physical Education. After graduation Greg began working as a carpenter and quickly established the skill set and relationships needed to start his own business, Greg Adams Builder. He was a master at his trade, loved his work and the opportunity to do a job well done for his loyal customers. Greg loved winning on the softball field. He excelled in competitive Class A Men's softball leagues as a pitcher, outfielder and manager for over 40 years. He was an avid Rutgers football and basketball fan. An avid outdoorsman, Greg belonged to the Lehman Lake Rod and Gun Club and the Rugged Mountain Hunting Club. Nothing made Greg happier than fly-fishing on the Snake River in Jackson Hole.

Husband of the late Louise M. Adams, brother of the late Douglas Adams; Greg is survived by his wife Beth (Appleby) Adams, a son and daughter-in-law Gregory P. II and Samantha Adams, his parents Walter Ira and Eleanor Jane (Young) Adams, two sisters Sharon Buell and Nanci Danielsen, grandson Gavin Adams, another grandchild expected in September and step-daughters Jessica and Emily Sabo.

The funeral service will be held 10:30 am on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone 211 Millstone Road, Perrineville. Burial will be private. Friends may call on Friday, June 6, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Presbyterian Church of Millstone Building Fund 211 Millstone Road, Perrineville, NJ, 08535. Greg was a leader of the Nehemiah Committee his passion was to move the church to open land to allow for future growth.

Greg was extremely talented carpenter. Aways professional, trustworthy, and hardworking.
There was no one else that you felt more comfortable to work in your home. Greg was very kind
and took the time to "smell the flowers" kind of guy. I think of him often as he did beautiful
carpentry work in our homes. He had a great smile and wonderful demeanor.
