Helen Bertekap Obituary
AGE: 93 • Fords
Helen Marie Yusko Bertekap, 93, of Fords, entered into eternal rest, Thursday Jan 26, 2012 at St. Joseph's Home in Woodbridge. She was born in New Brunswick and resided in Fords for the past 60 years. Helen was the co-owner of the Liberty Tavern in Fords for 40 years before retiring in 1990. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace R C Church in Fords, a member of the Holy Trinity Senior Citizens and a volunteer with the J F K Medical Center Auxiliary.
Helen was predeceased by her former husband Jerry Bertekap in 2002, her daughter Beverly Ann Zboyan 1995 her sisters Mary Hoffman and Elizabeth Napolitano, and her grandson Douglas Zboyan. She is survived by her son Gerald Bertekap and his wife Carole of Farmingdale, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Ave., Fords followed by a 10:30 am funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Peace R C Church. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. For directions, or to send condolence messages, visit our Web site at www.flynnfuneral.com

Dear Gerry,
Happen to see your Mother's obituary on-line and wanted to express my warmest condolences to you and your family at her passing. Reading the summary reminded me of the good old times on your father's boat, shooting pool in the basement and playing cards with you, Brian, Tommy et al.
