Jeanette Firestone Obituary
AGE: 81 • Jackson
Jeanette (Bess) Smolin Firestone died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. She was 81. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she resided in New Brunswick, NJ and Edison, NJ before moving to Westlake Golf and Country Club in Jackson, NJ. While living in Brooklyn, she often sang with her twin sister as a duet. Some of her performances included entertaining war veterans. While living in Edison, she was a member of Congregation Beth El on Jefferson Boulevard. She often performed in plays, both at the temple and locally in other venues such as Playhouse 22 in East Brunswick and Plays in the Park in Edison. After moving to Jackson, she actively participated in various clubs and activities that her community offered, such as bocce and line dancing.
Surviving are a daughter, Alicia D. Parr of Metuchen, NJ; a son, Alan D. Smolin of Pittsburg, TN; and four grandchildren.
Services were held December 2 at Menorah Chapels, Inc. in Staten Island, NY. Burial followed at New Montefiore Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY.
