Josephine "Jay" Sabol

AGE: 93 • Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Somerville

Josephine (Jay) Sabol died 3/4/15 at age 93 in her home in Albuquerque, NM. Born to Italian immigrants she lived most of her life in Somerville, New Jersey before she moved to Albuquerque 10 years ago to be with her loving immediate family.

She is survived by her daughter Amy Antle and son-in-law David, granddaughter Julie Uribe and husband Raul, grandson Joseph Antle, cherished great-granddaughter Aleena Rose Antle, and side-kick, Razzle, her little yorkie. Jay also leaves behind her devoted brother Dr. Michael Barile and wife Grace, many caring nieces, nephews and their families, and several friends. Her beloved husband Milton (Bill) Sabol died in 1999 after 54 years of marriage. She was the last surviving "Barile Girl" preceded in death by her parents Fred and Santa Barile, sisters Mary, Stella and Jeanean, brothers Frank and Joe.

Jay or "Mama Jay" as she was called in her later years was a gifted artist, great cook, determined gardener, devoted NY Giants fan, lover of fashion, and kind, gentle soul.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St Paul's Lutheran Church 15 W. Somerset St. Raritan, NJ 08869 at 10 am. After the service Jay's cremains will be taken to The New Cemetery South Bridge St. Somerville, NJ 08876 for burial beside her husband Bill.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless 1217 1st St NW Albuquerque, NM 87102 or the animal nonprofit organization of your choice.
