Joyce lives in my heart and prayers. Hers was a life well lived. I had many creative classes with Sister Joyce at Georgian Court. She taught me the beauty of calligraphy and patiently sat for me so I could paint her portrait.
I remember how happy Sister Joyce was to have a personal tour of The Starn twins art exhibit at the Met. She emailed me to hurry and see their amazing show, which I did.
Mike and Doug Starn, two internationally known artists from Absecon, NJ, were two of Sister Joyce's former HS students who built a 30'x40' bamboo construction on the sculpture roof garden of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 2010, they gave Joyce a personal tour of the creative pathways through Big Bambu, as it was called.
I will miss you, Sister Joyce. To Joyce's family: May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have many fond thoughts of Sister Joyce since first meeting her in 1973. At that time, I was Sister Joyce's Junior Homeroom President at Holy Spirit High School. What followed for many years thereafter was a wonderful friendship. I remember visiting Joyce's mom and family in Perth Amboy at Christmas time. The many dinners at the Convent, exercising in the hallways, and late night chats followed by early morning masses, are vivid memories of cherished gatherings. To this day whenever I speak about my high school days, it includes Joyce in some way... the Halloween contest we won... the artwork I painted with much of the painting being done by Joyce... celebrating her 25th Jubilee... the summer trips to Notre Dame University and througout Europe. Events that had a huge impact on my life. And although we both moved from the Absecon area, I often smile remembering Joyce's zest for life, her kindness for all others, and her love for family and god. Your presence on earth was enjoyed by many, Joyce. May you enjoy the fruits of your labor in heaven. To Sister Joyce's family, thank you for so generously sharing Joyce. My prayers are with all of you.

It is with tears in my eyes and heart that I write this message. Ray and I shall always hold the memories of Sister Joyce in our hearts. We enjoyed so very much her visits here in our home in VA. Her love of God and art are an inspiration to many, myself included, and I strive to paint as she did. This remarkable lady of many talents, and servant of God, shall always be remembered and missed by those who had the pleasure of know and spending time with her. Sister Joyce's spirit shall remain with all of us.
God Bless the family and peace be with you all. Raymond & Laura Lotkowictz
