JUAN RAMOS
AGE: 94 BELLE MEAD
Juan Ramos, 94, died Saturday (Nov. 1, 2008) at Somerset Medical Center.
Born in Puerto Rico, Mr. Ramos moved to New York City, N.Y. in 1952, and shortly after that moved to Elizabeth, where he lived most of his life. He was a master pastry and bread maker for many years but retired in 1975 from Phelps Dodge in Elizabeth as a wire gauge inspector. Mr. Ramos attended Sacred Heart of Mary R.C. Church in Elizabeth.
Son of the late Antonio and Ernestina Ramos, he is survived by his wife, Gloria Colondres Ramos; one son, John Ramos of Whitehouse Station; two daughters, Mildred Simone of Edison, and Aleida Marangella of Hillsborough, nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, from the Hillsborough Funeral Home 796 Route 206, Hillsborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Mary Mother of God R.C. Church, 157 S. Triangle Road, Hillsborough. Burial will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Somerset Medical Center Oncology Department, 110 Rehill Ave., Somerville, NJ 08876-2598.
