On March 5, 2015, during the worst snowstorm of the year, Julius J." Juicy" Wagerik, went to the warmth and peace of God " on the other side of the rainbow". Juicy was born in Hopelawn and had lived there his entire life of eighty-five years. He had learned the hard work ethic from his parents of deep faith and patriotism as a Boy Scout under the benevolent Scoutmaster, Mr. Barrett. He was a 1947 graduate of Woodbridge High School and had been quarterback for the high school football team. In 1995 Juicy was inducted into the Woodbridge Township Athletic Association Football Hall of Fame "Legends Wing". He was a United States Army veteran stationed in Germany as a company clerk and had also proudly served in the US National Guard. Upon his discharge from the army, he was employed in the Raritan Arsenal until it's closing in 1963. He had also worked for Richmond Radiator, in construction, building bridges and overpasses and retired from Hidary Co in Keasbey. Juicy was very proud of his Hungarian heritage. He loved gardening and enjoyed playing many sports, including tennis, bowling, golf and baseball. He was a devoted Yankee fan. In his younger years he had been a volunteer for the Hopelawn First Aid Squad and also the Hopelawn Fire Co.

He was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Anna (Roman) Wagerik, his beloved sister Helen Wagerik Beyers and brother-in-law Anthony Beyers, his brothers Stephen, John and Nicholas Wagerik, Louis Hajnal and his nephews John Jr., Nicholas and Stephen Wagerik. Mourning him deeply are his best friend and sister Mary Ann Wagerik. his nephew Michael and his wife Margaret Wagerik, nephew James Wagerik his godson J.D. Balazs and many great nieces and great nephews all of whom he loved had was deeply proud of. He will also be greatly missed by his cherished lifelong friends and neighbors.

Cremation services will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend an 11 am Service of Divine Liturgy, Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the St. Michael's Hungarian Catholic of Byzantine Rite at the corner of Amboy Ave and Hall Ave. in Perth Amboy. Burial of cremains will follow in the St. Michael's Cemetery in Fords. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mitruska Funeral Home, 531 New Brunswick Ave. Fords.

Juicy will be remembered as a kind and caring man who loved people, he would often give his last dollar to someone in need. His friendliness and sense of humor touched everyone he met. He has left an enormous void in the lives of all who knew him and will remain forever in our hearts. MLAAT.
