Katherine Gresham Obituary
AGE: 87 • Newark
Katherine M. "Kay" (Desch) Gresham formally of Avenel passed away on August 26th 2011 at HPH Hospice in Inverness, Florida. Kay was born in Newark NJ on October 6, 1924. She resided in Avenel NJ for 40 years before moving to Floral City, Fl in 1988. Kay was an excellent cook which she had many recipes passed on from her mom. One favorite of everyone's was her baked macaroni. She loved to travel and even though she was never formally taught Katherine was also a very good artist. She was a homemaker from the age of 19 and loved being with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Allwin "Zeke" Gresham formally of Champaign, Illinois who passed away on September 6, 1997;They met when she was 17 and married n August 4, 1943. They had two sons Allwin Gresham, Jr. who passed away on Dec 12, 1987 and Kurt Gresham who passed away on June 29 1997.
Kay is survived by two daughters-in-laws Linda Gyuro of Pittstown NJ and Barbara Gresham of Broomfield, Co. and two grandsons Wesley and Kurt of Broomfield, Co whom she visited every year and loved very much; a loving sister and last sibling Rita Zalasar of Avenel.
A Memorial Services will be held at Saint Andrews Church, 244 Avenel St in Avenel NJ at 11am Saturday October 1 followed by Lunch at Dominic's Restaurant 453 Avenel St. Avenel. All friends and family are welcome. In Lieu of Flowers, donations in Kay's name to HPH Hospice, 701 Medical Drive Ct. E, Inverness, FL 34452 would be appreciated.

Aunt Kay I miss you everyday. You were always there for me since the day I was born. I wish i could of been there with you on your last minutes of your life. A part of my life is gone forever. I know you are with Uncle AL, Allwin and Kurt now and I hope you are happy and peacefull. I love you

Kay was a special person and everyone in her family was special to me. I remember practicing in the attic with Kurt, and Kay would always come up to listen for a bit and fool around with us. She was always a positive loving influence
And I will miss her as I miss my brothers Allwin and Kurt.
