Ladimer W. (Lad) Czumak

Ladimer (Lad) W. Czumak, 63, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012. Lad was a fourteen year brain cancer survivor. Lad was born in Newark and lived in Irvington and Cranford before moving to Bridgewater 38 years ago. Lad attended the Pratt Institute School of Art and Design in Brooklyn, and served in the Air National Guard from 1967 to 1973. Mr. Czumak worked as an estimator and project coordinator for Research Cottrell Air & Water Technologies in Branchburg for sixteen years. He also owned a Snap-On Tool franchise for several years. Lad was a communicant of St. Bernard R.C. Church in Bridgewater. He was a volunteer for eight years at Somerset Medical Center. Lad loved working with stained glass and studio style glass. He also enjoyed his classic cars, cooking, and just being with family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Frances Scarfone Czumak and his sister, Fran Forlenza. Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Joyce Kondroski Czumak; his brother, Charles and wife, Sue, of Sarasota, FL; his godchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and the many friends who kept Lad in their hearts throughout his special journey. He is also survived by his cats, Sarah and Doug. We would like to thank the VNA of Somerset Hills Hospice for their help and compassionate care.

Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a 10 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R. C. Church, 500 Route 22 East, Bridgewater. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Route 28, Bridgewater. Viewing hours are Monday, February 6, 2012 from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
