Leonard Matzura Obituary
AGE: 82 • Sewaren
Leonard J. Matzura, 82 of Sewaren passed away Feb. 15th in Madison. Born in Shamokin Pennsylvania, he lived in Sewaren for many years. Retiring in 1988 he was employed by Bell Telephone in Woodbridge for twenty five years as a telephone repair man. He was a member of St. James R.C. Church, Woodbridge. Leonard proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Somerville VFW.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Ann Marie (Bunner) Matzura in 1988. He is survived by his devoted children James Bunner of Perth Amboy, Bonnie Bunner of Hazlet, a brother Robert Matzura of Iselin, two sisters Catherine Cashmareck of Delaware, Theresa Berry of Florida, & five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 9am Tuesday at St. James R.C. Church Woodbridge, followed interment at St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visitation will be Monday 7pm to 9pm at the Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home 411 Amboy Ave. (Rt. 35) Woodbridge. For directions or to send online condolences, please visit www.gerityfh.com. My family and I are very sad to hear about the passing of Lenny. Lenny was our neighbor here in Sewaren for over 13 years and we were sad to see him leave. Lenny was very very good to our 3 children and we will forever remember him as a GREAT neighbor and will miss him dearly. May thoughts and prayers to his entire family during this difficult time. Rest Easy Lenny !
