I am so sad to learn of Lisa's death. I got to know Lisa over the years through her participation in many of the events sponsored by the Friends of the Atlantic Highlands Library and the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society. We will all miss her mischievous smile, sense of humor and unquenchable thirst for knowledge. RIP.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Lisa worked with me as part of the Editorial Staff for the Garden Club of New Jersey state newsletter, News Leaf. She was sharp and caring. Her judgement could be depended on. She was with us on the Friday before she entered the hospital and told us of what was to come in the next week. It was with great sadness that we heard what had occurred. It is difficult to believe that she is no longer with us. But, as they say, she is in a better place. Our condolences go out to the family that meant so much to her. She will be forever in our memory.

Lisa was one of the first teachers I met when I started teaching in Middletown. I'll never forget how kind and welcoming she was to me. She was such a warm and caring individual and remained that way for as long as I knew her. My sincere condolences to her family and, of course, to her friends, who are too numerous to mention.

Lisa was a wonderful friend. It was a pleasure knowing, spending time with and working on projects with her. She will be remembered whenever we attend a Navesink Garden Club meeting, we are in our gardens, we pass the Navesink Elementary School, we ride along the scenic road in Atlantic Highlands, and we look at the many travel photos that she shared with us after returning from her many trips. We are all fortunate to have shared her upbeat life during her short time here with us.

I am so saddened to hear of Ms Emery's passing. My sister and I were both students at Navesink Elementary and started our love of learning in Ms Emery's class. We often saw her around town afterwards, and she still remembered us well and cared for us over those 25 years. She was one of the kindest souls I've ever encountered and the world is certainly darker without her joy and light in it. I will miss her, as I'm sure everyone who ever knew her will.

Truly a wonderful example to all of the children she taught. Heaven has gained an angel who many adored. She leaves a legacy of her work, in the successful children who have grown to be better, live better and move into productive lives...all because she planted a seed within them by her passion to teach. Thank you Miss Emery, for being the light to your students. We will all miss you yet remember you greeting the kids in Navesink school happily each day❤. With Sincere Sympathy, Laurie Burdge-Ward

Lisa led a full and meaningful life. No one can erase the impact she had on all the young lives that passed through her classroom. Her energy was legendary among her teacher colleagues. May the pain of losing your aunt and sister in law be soon replaced with the comfort of the love and the happy times you shared with her.
