Marion Janis

AGE: 89 • Iselin

Marion Janis, age 89 of Iselin passed away Saturday, February 20th 2016 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in NYC, NY she had resided in Iselin for the past 60 years. Before her retirement Marion was employed as a bookkeeper for Pan American Airlines in North Jersey and previously by Allen Industries in Rahway. She was a member of the Colonia Senior Citizens and was a soup kitchen volunteer in New Brunswick.

She is predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary Cody, her husband John, her granddaughter Catherine, her five sisters, four brothers and her son-in-law Francis Rutan. Surviving are her loving partner and companion of 17 years William Brandenburg, her children and their spouses Carol and Joseph Butchko of IL, Mary Rutan of Sayreville and John and Cathy of ID, 9 grandchildren, 19 grandchildren, her brother Raymond Cody and his wife Sharyn of Winfield Park and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 8:45am Thursday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9:30am Mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville followed by a private cremation. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Marion's name to the MS NYC Chapter or to CCFA.
