AGE: 93 • Perth Amboy
Mary Mokar ( nee Safko ) 93 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy with her loving family by her side. Mary was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy. She was a homemaker, and was very proud of it and loved cooking and being with her family and friends. She was a parishioner of Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Perth Amboy.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Walter Mokar, who passed away many years ago; loving daughter of Stephen and Domincka ( nee Gera ); dear sister of Michael, Stephen Safko and Sonia Fenton. She is survived by her beloved sons Ronald and his wife Maryann and Gerald and Angela Mokar; adored aunt of many nieces and nephews.
We begin to leave on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 8:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a Divine Liturgy at 9 am at Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Perth Amboy. Interment will be at Ukrainian Cemetery. Visiting is on Monday from 2 ~ 4 & 7 ~ 9 pm with a Parastas Service at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Mary can be made to the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 684 Alta Vista Pl, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.

Dear Ronnie and Jerry,
My sincere condolences on the passing of your dear mother Mary. Your mom was blessed to have such wonderful and caring sons. She was a lovely , sweet, and gentle woman. I was fond of Mary and will miss her. My sympathy to Mary Ann, Angela, and her niece Dolores.
May she Rest in Peace.

I just wanted to say that I got to know Mary from the nursing home where she lived as my dad does also ...she was one funny person and I truly loved her spunk and fire. She made me laugh on many occasions at lunch time when I came to hang out with my father. Just know I have your family in my prayers.
