MICHAEL KACSUR JR.
AGE: 89 CARTERET
Michael Kacsur Jr., 89, of Carteret, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Delaire Nursing Home, Linden. Born in New York City, he lived most his life in Carteret. He retired as founder and owner of Kacsur & Sons, Carteret. Michael was an honorary member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 797, Carteret and an honorary member of Hopelawn Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1352. He was a former coach for the Carteret Little League and Carteret Pop Warner.
He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Vaganek Kacsur; his parents, Michael and Bertha; and two sisters, Julia Boursovic and Mary Balaris. Michael is survived by four children, Michael Kacsur and his wife Louise, Paulette Szczesny and her husband Ted, Kenneth Kacsur and his wife Michele, and Michele Colangelo and her husband Carmen; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, George and Albert Kacsur; a sister, Helen Simkovich; and his dearest friend, Marie Kaleta.
Viewing hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at the Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Ave., Carteret. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
