Patrick Sayre Obituary

Patrick Raymond Sayre

Austin, TX - Patrick "Pat" Sayre, 56, formerly of Middletown, NJ gained his Angel wings and went home to be with his heavenly Father on April 20, 2021. The youngest of nine children, Pat was born in Red Bank, NJ on March 13, 1965 to Conrad D. Sayre and Catherine Grace (Connolly) Sayre, both of whom predeceased him.

Pat graduated from Middletown South High School in 1983. He worked in the retail industry for 30 years - where he put his always authentic and unique "people skills" to good use every day - first in Red Bank and Middletown, NJ and then in Austin, Texas, where he resided from 1999 to 2021. Pat was a sports fan who loved following the NY Mets, the NY Giants and WWE. He maintained an avid appreciation for good "Jersey-style food" right up until the end. Pat was a kind, considerate, and loving brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by many.

Pat is survived by three sisters: Barbara Lathrop of Clinton NJ, Margaret Durnien and husband Kevin of Toms River, NJ, and Catherine Crabtree and husband Jack of Austin, Texas; five brothers: Tom Sayre and wife Liza of Mesa, AZ, Bill Sayre and wife Cecilia of Ocean, NJ, David Sayre and partner Gene Klein of Valley Center, CA, Robert Sayre and wife Susan of Chandler, AZ, and Phillip Sayre and wife Patricia of Red Bank, NJ; five nieces, five nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews; his longtime friend Patricia Dougherty and her daughter Kelly Villalba and son Michael Dougherty, all of Austin, TX.

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ward Lathrop of Clinton, NJ.

A private celebration of Pat's life will be planned for family and friends in his home state of NJ at a later date, when it is safer to travel and gather. Memorials can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
