Patrick Tunney Obituary

Patrick Barry Tunney

A loving husband and father, died in his home on Thursday Sept. 14, 2017. He was 69 years old and is survived by Patricia, his wife of 47 years and his son, Morgan, his mother, Patricia Frances Tunney, two brothers, Joe and Randy and his sister, Mary Lou.

He bravely battled cancer for 6 yrs. & continued to live life in a manner of his own.

As a young man, he owned and operated several amusement games and businesses on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, NJ. More recently, he owned and operated Up The Creek, a restaurant-bar in Wilmington, Delaware.

He loved to sail but golf was his passion. Thanks to his "golf buddies" he was able to continue playing for the last few years. He loved the mountains of Panama and wanted to make it our home. But, his health was too fragile to make the move.

It was his wish to have friends and family visit with him, to say "good-bye". We want to express our gratitude to all who, so kindly and lovingly, spent time with Patrick during the last four weeks of his life.

Donations, in his memory, may be made to the Red Cross for the hurricane victims of Texas, Florida and the Islands of the Caribbean.

When a life such as Patrick's has been lived so completely, so successfully, full of so much love we consider ourselves blessed to have known such a man! May he rest in God's peace.

"There is no death,
What we call death,
Is but surcease from strife;
They do not die who we call dead,
They go from life ... to Life."
