I am sorry to be tardy in saying a few words about a man that I had only recently gotten to REALLY know. My son Bobby and I have made several trips to Hamilton College in the last year, and had the good fortune of spending time with Peter and with the founders of the Alexander Hamilton Institue. Peter was alive, vibrant and full of pride in his efforts in support of this much needed and unique institution. I shared a beer with Peter in July 2010 at the Institue and he was clearly in his element. He explained the past, present and future of this place of free speech and of himself. He had a calm confidence that his efforts were going towards a place that would long out last him and that would play an important role in many lives. He clairvoyently discussed his demise, but he stated that he refused to live a less than full life to "postpone the inevitable". Peter was clearly committed to a life lived fully with nothing left on the table. He achieved that and, I for one was glad to share his dreams and I will make a contribtution to the AHI to help these dreams continue. -Bob Hamill and family
