Randy Walters

AGE: 53 • Spotswood

Randy Walters died on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was 53. Born in Missouri, he resided in Old Bridge before moving to Spotswood 28 years ago. Mr. Walters was a Millwright at SWM International, Inc. of Spotswood, where he worked for 22 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1979 to 1983, and was a member of Post #253, American Legion, Spotswood, Memorial Post #4589, VFW, Spotswood, and the Mason Lodge #243.

He was predeceased by his father, Lester Walters. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Barbara Eschrich Walters; his mother, Peggy Walters of Ellsinore, MO; two brothers, Jerry Walters, also of Ellsinore, and Stephen Walters of Piedmont, MO; a sister, Laurie Yocom, of Ash Grove, MO; his goddaughter, Kristen Seely and many nieces and nephews.

Services were private under the direction of The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, East Brunswick (www.brunswickmemorialhome.com). Memorial contributions may be made to NJ State Veterans Memorial Home, 132 Evergreen Road, Menlo Park, NJ 08837.

Randy and I were shipmates. We were also the best of friends. He was a great guy. Though we lost touch after the Navy, I miss him. Lots of memories.
