RAYMOND J. SPERLING, SR.
AGE: 89 MILLTOWN
Raymond J. Sperling, Sr., 89, of Milltown, NJ passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2009 at the McCall Hospice Home in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Born in Woodside Long Island, NY, he had been a longtime resident of Milltown. Raymond served in US Marine Corp. during WWII. He was the Power House supervisor for 39 years for the Hercules Powder Company in Parlin, NJ. He was a member of the American Legion Joyce Kilmer Post #25, a member the 25 Year Club of the Hercules Powder Company and a member of the Manasquan Fishing Club.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, the late M. Dorothy; a son, Raymond J. Sperling, Jr., and a brother, Royal Sperling. he is survived by a daughter and son- in -law, Gloria & Bob Richards of Milltown, NJ; and three grandchildren, Thomas Schneider and his wife, Colleen, Tammy Markheim and her husband Dave and Dr. Tyler Richards and his wife, Ann. Also survived by five great grandchildren, Brian Markheim, Tommy Schneider, Timmy Schneider, Alyssa Markheim, and Emily Richards.
The family will receive friends at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services, Thursday 10am at the funeral home. Interment, Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick, NJ. www.bronsonandguthleinfh.com

As I have told Tyler, I still remember the enclosure for the birds in the back yard and Mr. Sperling's woodworking. Please accept my sincere sympathy at this time and my hope that your many fond memories will comfort you.
